Renegade 2.0 and X Radio Mic Warranty
Oxbow Gear is providing Frogzskin covers for every Renegade 2.0 and Renegade X radios that have sold prior to March 6th, 2023. The Frogzskin covers protect against mic freezing and mic failure issues. In some cases where the mic has completely failed, we will be warrantying the base unit of the radio.
STOP: Before you determine whether you need a base unit or a Frogzskin, perform a freezer test.
To perform a freezer test, place the radio in the freezer for 1 hour. Then remove from the freezer and test the microphone. If the microphone works, then you will just need a Frogzskin cover. If the microphone does not work, then you will need a replacement base unit. (The base unit will require you to reuse your current radio’s battery, antenna, and back clip.)
