  1. Cal

I’ve had the Renegade 1.0 for many years and it’s still one of my go to 2-way radios. I like having the volume knob to quickly turn down the volume when someone is standing next to me and someone else is transmitting at the same time. Also, the battery life goes for several days, huge win in my book

  3. Andy (verified owner)

Bought 4 of these 1.0 models and they’re amazing! by far superior to any I’ve used. I wanted radios with clear communication, long distance range, and really long battery life. I use these for everything from hunting to fishing and camping, backing my trailer into the RV slab, traveling with buddies going riding and never had an issue! Extremely happy with them!

  4. Ryan (verified owner)

Excellent communication on when the product would ship. You clearly have a great team.

  5. Justin Martinez (verified owner)

Very clear communication. Perfect size, and weight. Great clip to insure you won’t loose the radio! Very satisfied

  6. Rik Nielsen (verified owner)

Love this simple easy setup. Only issue I’ve had is the volume knob back off on my right shoulder. Doesn’t seem to do it on the left.

  7. Bradley Ridenhour (verified owner)

  8. Mark (verified owner)

Everything I expected. Great and easy to use; operation is easy to understand

  9. Mike Hayes (verified owner)

Love my radio. Super easy to transfer between packs which is awesome…and Oxbow’s customer service is awesome!

  10. Troy (verified owner)

You won’t be disappointed. Bought 3 for me and my son’s. The price is fair and shipping is fast. Chose these over the bca radios.

  11. Tyson Dudley (verified owner)

Such a great radio!! The range is fantastic and it doesn’t feel like I have a giant brick on my shoulder. It is super user friendly. Loved it so much that I had all my Backcountry skier friends to purchase one.

  12. Jake (verified owner)

I don’t like how loose the volume dial can turn. after a little time riding the volume will be all the way down or even off.

  13. Anonymous (verified owner)

Great little compact durable line off site radio. Perfect to Corrodinator runs on the slope, by line of site I don’t meant literally but the range is perfect for a single slope. Haven’t had the snow to test further range. Great durable clip and the battery recharge station is nice to not worry about carrying extra batteries

  14. Nathan Dodge (verified owner)

The radio is very light and mounts very solid to your gear. Down side is the flash light comes on unexpectedly. Also the call button next to the talk bottom should be removed to avoid accidentally pushing the wrong button so often.

    • Oxbow Gear (store manager)

      Hey Nathan,

Hold down the orange “F” button on the front of the radio for 5 seconds and it will lock all of the keys out. Hope that helps!

  15. Hunter M. (verified owner)

Solid, simple, reliable, and ready for everything I have thrown at them.

  16. Anonymous (verified owner)

Took a little to get it dialed but works good!

  17. Denis S. (verified owner)

Like having the whole radio in one piece, without a mic.

  18. Eli T. (verified owner)

Great little radio! Works very well and the speaker has a lot of range, from nice and quiet to super loud. For less than half the price of BCA, you get the same features, same range and more durability. Plus, the shoulder clip seems to fit on any backpack and didn’t move all day.

Battery life is great, and the it’s super easy to use!

  26. Wendell Miller (verified owner)

    Works great! As described

  27. JESSE HEHR (verified owner)

Great distance capabilities and exceptional battery life. Used for 4 days continuous and battery was still full. Also is small, compact and light weight. Only down fall is volume knob should have some sort of detent or lock to keep it from turning down rubbing on gear accidentally.

  29. Cody B. (verified owner)

    Love it!!

  30. gavin lunn (verified owner)

Very good radio, easy to use and setup. Shoulder strap is very strong, and the battery lasts a few days of riding. Charging block failed after a few uses, have resorted to using iPhone charging block.

Has all necessary components to use. Our use is for single track riding, been great. Long battery life and loud enough to here while helmet is on. Great radios.

  34. Jason (verified owner)

    Compact and reliable

  35. Monica (verified owner)

Ive tried many radios backcountry riding and this one is the best yet!! dont waste time and get the best

  36. Kip Davis (verified owner)

The battery doesn’t charge. Wasn’t able to use it on my snowmobile trip.

  37. Andrew (verified owner)

Went on snowmobiling trip and there were a few guys with oxbow radios, and others with bca. Was really impressed by the oxbow signal range and simplicity of design over bca. Ended up buying the oxbow radio, and am very satisfied. Clipped it to my pack strap, and it was easy to talk. Also, in that location it hits a lot of stuff, so it has been very durable.

  43. Todd Cramer (verified owner)

Super stoked to be using Oxbow this season .. Epic communication for the Backcountry.🤘

  44. Jared (verified owner)

These work awesome we ride single track in the mountains and range seems to be at least two miles that we have tested. Comes in loud enough to hear over our headphones for music and is clear. Channel lock is nice… first time out we had both bumped to different channels. Super simple to use as well and batteries have lasted for days of riding.

  45. Lenny Dipzinski (verified owner)

  46. Ronnie Urdiales (verified owner)

So far they seem to be working good, unfortunately they do not work vehicle to vehicle on the roadway, but the real teat will be in Colorado at the end of July, then I will have a full review.

  47. Alexander Barber (verified owner)

Have only used sledding 3 times so far… but the Renegade seems to be more practical than the BCA’s for me. Range seems about similar (maybe slightly less), but the price is significantly cheaper and the usability is much more efficient against the elements.

  48. Kevin Young (verified owner)

These are great radios. The reception is very clear, and easy to use.

  49. Noah (verified owner)

Good battery life and works great with other riders BCA radios

  50. Ed (verified owner)

    Still waiting to receive it

  51. MIchael King (verified owner)

Very good reception at longer distances. Loud and clear.

  52. Keith (verified owner)

Not much bigger than the BCA hand microphone. Everything in one very secure unit. Seems to have at least equal range as other 2 watt units.

  53. Joseph (verified owner)

I’ve had these for over a month and would highly recommend them to anyone. I’ve used the bca link for years and for me this works far better. So far I’ve used it for backcountry skiing and snowbiking. Design is simple I turn it on lock the function and go all day without ever accidentally switching channels. Range is great. Battery life is good I get 2-3 days of riding without charging if needed. Great company if your waiting for yours due to growing pains it’s because their product is worth it!

  54. Benjamin (verified owner)

Radio itself is nice but battery fully charged at 9 am didn’t last till 2 pm very minimal use in between. It was cold but my old bca radio I had in my pack as a backup lasted the day.

  55. Jon A. (verified owner)

  56. Marty (verified owner)

Bout this radio for out west riding snowmobile. Performed very well in the woods and backcountry. 2 other guys I was with had BCA radios an talked to them just fine with good range. Very nice radio!

  57. Scott Fink (verified owner)

So far, so good. Only been out a couple times with them, but they are performing flawlessly.

  58. COLBY T. (verified owner)

It is a decent unit lightweight and pretty easy to use. The clip is strong and secure but it does make the radio stick out a way from the strap it gets in the way when i have to cross my arm, but it is very stout. placement is important if mounted to high on your shoulder strap the antenna is in the path of your helmet while turning your head. other than those minor issues i am happy with this radio. i would reccomend it to others not wanting to spend a fortune on a pack radio.

  59. Brad R. (verified owner)

I still have not recieved it. Tracking tells me nothing but ” It will be late”

    • Oxbow Gear (store manager)

      Hey Brad,

Sorry you haven’t received it yet. We did ship it right away, but the postal services do get a little backed up this time of year. Thanks for your business and support!

  61. Aubrey DuMont (verified owner)

pretty darn cool, I think my dad will love these.

  62. Caleb (verified owner)

After some more testing, these these performed great! Excited to try these out on the trail!

  63. Craig C. (verified owner)

I like the radio overall, wish the PTT button was a bit bigger and the two buttons underneath were in a different locations, I tend to hit those buttons with gloves etc. The clip does not fit on BCA vests, but that is expected and fits normal backpacks just fine.

    • Oxbow Gear (store manager)

      Hey Craig,

Thanks for the feedback. We’ll definitely take your recommendations into consideration.
